Speed Metal Project’s new album “Egocentris” (“EgoCentric” in US version) has been released. This Indonesian version was just released in April 2023, while the US version was released a few months earlier by Shredguy Records in late 2022 in CD format. Digital format is also available on all major streaming services.
The seven compositions that fill the “EgoCentic” album also now experience a shift in musical concept. It is no longer dominated by power metal style. But this time, Aji Brokenbones and other band members agreed to boost the full range of neo-classical metal style.
In one of the songs entitled “Greedy Instinct”, Aji admits that he was quite challenged when executing the recording. The instrumentation was the most difficult. “Not only because of the strong neo-classical elements in the song, (but) also because it applies a fairly fast tempo.” As he told to Musikeras.com.
Before “EgoCentic”, Speed Metal Project had released a mini album (EP) entitled “King of the Universe” (2015). Beyond that, Aji Brokenbones, who once set the record for “The Fastest Twin Guitar Player” by RHR (Record Holders Republic) on May 8, 2016, has also produced two solo albums. Respectively titled “Save Our Culture of Sundanese” (2013) and “Mystic of Shred” (2015) (I played on 1 song titled “Power”), which were also released via Shredguy Records. One of Aji’s trademarks in playing guitar is using a twin-necked guitar, which he plays technically and fast.
